Information about Camp Thrive
Camp Thrive Invitation
Dear Parents or Guardians of YMS Students:
Your child is invited to participate in Camp Thrive. Regulation is something everyone continually works on whether or not we are cognizant of it. We all encounter trying circumstances that test our limits from time to time. If we are able to recognize when we are becoming less regulated, we are able to do something about it to manage our feelings and get ourselves to a healthy place. This comes more naturally for some, but for others it is a skill that needs more attention and practice. This is the goal of The Zones of Regulation curriculum which will be taught during Camp Thrive. In addition, Tykes and Teens counselors will hold small groups (with parent permission) to provide targeted support in topic areas such as coping skills, self-esteem, social skills, self-acceptance, anger management, inclusion, and diversity. Students may register for one or more weeks, but may only be selected for one based on available space.
When: Middle School Camps: June 14-18, June 28- July 2 (2- one week sessions); 8:00 am- 1:00 pm; Monday – Friday; Breakfast and Lunch will be provided at no cost for all students.
Please complete the registration at this link or visit the Okeechobee County School District Website or the Okeechobee County School Facebook page or utilize the QR code below. Space is limimted, so please register early! Families will receive an email or phone call confirming your seat in camp.
