Mrs. Carpenter has served as one of Yearling Middle School's guidance counselors since 2010 and has served as an educator for the past 32 years. A former elementary teacher and middle school reading teacher, Mrs. Carpenter has spent her entire career with Okeechobee County School District and has also guided students at Osceola Middle School and Central and Everglades Elementary Schools.
A native of Yorktown, Indiana and Okeechobee resident, Mrs. Carpenter graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1988 before earning her Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama in 2010. Mrs. Carpenter lives with her husband, George, of 21 years, and has three children including her daughter, Caitlyn, who teachers Algebra and Geometry at Yearling, as well as Nolan and Cole. All three of her children graduated from Okeechobee High School. Mrs. Carpenter is a highly skilled baker and she and her husband, George, enjoy summer vacations in Maui.
